The No. 4 Michigan Wolverines defeated the No. 3 Northern Michigan Wildcats 2-1 to claim the Mason Cup and 2010 CCHA Championship title tonight at Joe Louis Arena. 

This marks Michigan's ninth CCHA Championship title, granting them an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. In the Third Place game played earlier Saturday afternoon, the Miami RedHawks defeated the Ferris State Bulldogs 2-1. 

Honored with CCHA Championship All-Tournament team recognition were forwards Louie Caporusso (Michigan), Carl Hagelin (Michigan) and Ray Kaunisto (Northern Michigan), defensemen Steve Kampfer (Michigan) and Erik Gustafsson (Northern Michigan), and goaltender Shawn Hunwick (Michigan).  Hunwick also earned All-Tournament MVP honors.
