"I thought we played a very solid, complete game. Our
penalty kill was outstanding throughout the weekend;
we didn't give up a power-play goal last night or tonight against Holy
Cross, the top power play in the country. I'm pleased about the way we
played defensively and killed penalties. We generated some offense and
both goaltenders that we played really well," - Jim Culhane.
- Over the past seven games, the Bronco penalty kill has surrendered just two
goals in 43 opponent chances for a success rate of 95.3 percent. WMU has raised
its overall penalty kill percentage five points in that seven-game span, from 82.6
percent to 87.5 percent.
- Sunday's shootout against Holy Cross was the first in Bronco history.
- WMU's penalty kill is currently tied for 12th in the nation with North Dakota with
an 87.5 percent success rate. Western Michigan leads the nation in combined
special teams with a 59.8 rating.
